If it's style inspiration you're after, you can't go wrong with Style Mum. Since starting her blog in 2013, Pascale uses her knowledge and passion to let the world know about her favourite finds, fitting it all in around being a mum and working a 9-5 in the busy city.

We spoke to Pascale for a quick chat this week, all about styling as a mum, her favourite independent stores and to find out who's style The Style Mum really loves...

What inspired you to start your blog? How did you get to where you are now?

I have always been a fashion girl - I studied at the London College of Fashion but due to the low income jobs offered when I left, I ended up going for a financial job in the City leaving my dream job behind. This is what inspired the blog, it was a way to keep my passion alive and connect with like-minded creatives. The blog has grown at a steady pace, it hasn't been an overnight success! A lot of hard work over the past three years and a lot of networking has got me to where I am now. I have made a fantastic circle of friends within the blogging community and have built my influence up authentically.

Who's style are you currently loving?

I will forever love Kate Moss and her rock chick thrift store vibe - a girly dress and an ankle boot is one of my go-to's! Others would have to include Kate Bosworth, Alexa Chung and my blogger faves Lucy Williams, Emma Hill and The Frugality.

Who were your fashion heroes when you were a kid?

Growing up as a teen my style icon would have to have been Carrie Bradshaw. I think her style has influenced so many of my fashion choices (some good and some bad!)

Have your kids followed in your fashion footsteps? What's fashionable to them?

My kids love fashion and will overtake me in the fashion stakes soon I'm sure. I recently asked them to describe their style and they said it was a cross between Prince William and Kanye West!

Does your style change when you have kids? Discuss!

My style hasn't changed since having kids, apart from the fact I need to hide a few more lumps and bumps than I did before. I think you don't need to change just because you're a mum - my kids appreciate the fact I love the clothes that I wear, although sometimes getting out the door on time can prove difficult! I do agree that some mums lose their way and their confidence after having kids, and this is where stylists can help! My lovely friend Victoria Genevieve helps so many ladies get back to themselves after becoming mamas.

Who are you loving on instagram at the moment?

As mentioned above, I love Lucy Williams' effortless style and her page is beautiful - if you don't follow her already then you should. I also have a great network of blogger friends who often pop up on my feed and I often turn to them for advice, including @vistoriagenevievestyling, @sulkydollstyling, @saltyairsunkissedhairblog, @cinderfashionrella, @mercer7official, @mamastillgotit_, @thestylenurse, @that_mummy_smile, @finlay_fox, @katejoneslondon, @emma_says,  @thefashioncraver and @the_colour_file

Any independent brands you'd like to spread the word about?

I am mad about Seven Boot Lane. I recently received a pair of boots from their collection and they are the most comfortable I have ever worn. I also love a jewellery brand called @doseofrose - I was never much of an earring-wearer until I stumbled across them. I love an unusual gift and recently bought a new mama gift box from @thebeaubox, such a fab idea. Lastly if you are looking for good quality leather bags that won't break the bank then I'm loving Sarah Hollier for clutches, Cru London for backpacks and Davina Mulford for a cross body!

What music do you listen to? Do you think your kids have inherited your music taste?

We are a big music-loving household and the kids love it as much as we do. My tastes are eclectic, from Ed Sheeran (the current car CD) to Bob Dylan and Tupac! We are hoping to get to Camp Bestival this summer as the kids would be in their element!

Party out or party at home - Discuss!

I love a party at home, you can still get dressed up but none of the faffing around getting home and missing trains! Also, you are in full control of that playlist!

What's next for you and the blog?

I have a few projects lined up with some brands that I love and I'll also be planning some events with my styling partner in crime, Victoria...watch this space! (and my instagram!)
